2009.04.18 – Kaumakapili Church
This was actually our first time photographing at Kaumakapili Church. Our bride & groom came from Cleveland, Ohio and had a small ceremony here in Hawaii. Before the ceremony, we took a few photos in the Moana Surfrider in Waikiki and also at Magic Island. Here are a few pictures from the day:

2009.03.21 – Waimanalo Bay

We had a wonderful experience working with Kai-photo. The Kai-photo team is very professional and super nice. Kayoko was our photographer and she took our e ngagement and wedding photos. Her photos were amazing, she is very talented and totally captured the emotions of the wedding and the beauty of the environment (at the same time!).
She was very easy to work with, and it was very nice because we were able to incorporate our ideas and spontaneity in the pictures, it was a lot of fun![]()
We love Kai-Photo, thank you so much for capturing beautiful moments in our special day, we will enjoy them forever.

2008.11.20 – Chinese “pre-wedding games”

Whats going on with the boys???
I have always wanted to share this with our readers, as this is a tradition that somehow never came to the local Hawaii Chinese culture. It is a tradition to have “pre-wedding games” with the bridal parties and close friends the morning of the wedding.
The bride is separated from the groom (usually locked in a room) and the groom needs to complete various tasks assigned by the girls in order to reach his bride. The tasks are usually difficult and often embarrassing. The funniest I have seen (from one of my friends’ wedding) was when the boys had to wear the girls shoes (HIGH HEELS!) and walked around the hotel lobby. The groom also had to find 5 random strangers and read his vows to them…
Luckily for all the Chinese grooms in Hawaii, this tradition has never really made it here! Or at least, I haven’t seen it done at any of the local Chinese weddings!
2008.10.18 – Getting Ready/bridal shots
We haven’t seen a wedding with sunflowers for a very long time! Isn’t it full of colors and sunshine? It is a good alternative if your wedding color has yellow!!
